the damn contest, again
Reminder: the First Annual Friday Playdate/ThisNext Retro Holiday Gifts Contest has officially started! Because now that NaBloPoMo is over, I know you're scrambling for ways to fill your time.
For those of you who are saying do what now? the deal is this: get over to ThisNext and start shopcasting; recommend your favorite "retro" gifts and tag them Friday Playdate so I can find them. No I'm not going to define retro for you, but I will say this: nothing currently marketed by Apple counts as "retro." Does it remind you of yesteryear? (Or yesternight, as Charlie still sometimes says?) Then recommend it!
Fuller contest information and prizes are here (at the end, after the Very Important Style Advice, which you should also read, OF COURSE). Thinks to self: is FULLER a word? Not really sure. Huh. Maybe I need more sleep. Or more coffee. Yes, that's it! More coffee. A fuller cup, perhaps.
Now stop pestering me. Just kidding! Pester away! But please don't e-mail me your recommendations, and please ask questions in the comments, because if you're confused chances are other folks are as well. I have that effect on people. My kids, mostly.
You can see the current entries here--if you're still doing your holiday shopping you REALLY need to take a look. Because who knew there were Ben Franklin action figures out there?
Not me, that's for sure!

I am just so tickled pink that you quoted my email subject line.
I would have posted it here, honest, but I can't comment from my phone.
Are you TRYING to ensure that I don't get any of my holiday baking done? Lady, you are killing me, but I am in.
These reminders only lower MY chances of winning.
Okay, I lost track of how many times I said "YES!!!" when I looked at some the items suggested for retro gifts. I'm racking my brain to think of someone who needs pregnant paper dolls. Just because I want to buy them for someone! Anyone! They are hilarious! And really, who doesn't want bowling monkeys?
